Cremation Options
Many individuals and families are now choosing cremation. Green Lawn Cemetery & Arboretum has many special options available. Regardless of what you decide to do with a loved one's cremated remains, we encourage families to memorialize their loved one in a permanent way. A designated location and memorial can be deeply meaningful and healing. And knowing your loved one's ashes are safely and permanently cared for can bring comfort and peace of mind.
Glass-Fronted Niches (Huntington Chapel)
An elegant option in the historic Huntington Chapel, our glass-front niches provide inurnment for 1 to 4 persons, depending on the size of the niche. Glass-fronted niches allow personalization within the niche and give the opportunity to create a unique tribute to your loved one.
The chapel also allows for year-round, temperature-controlled visitation by loved ones. These are a modern and popular option.

Traditional Burial (Urn)
As the rate of cremation continues to rise, Green Lawn has developed numerous options for the burial of cremated remains (urns). We have specific areas we’ve developed for cremated remains, but all areas of the cemetery available for casket burial may also accommodate an cremation (urn) burial.
Standard burial lots can accommodate either a full casket burial or multiple cremation urns. These lots also allow for a traditional headstone as the memorialization.

Scattering Options
Green Lawn's expansive grounds allow for unique scattering options, offering a peaceful setting for this heartfelt act of remembrance.
Scattering Pond: Nestled deep in Green Lawn Cemetery, our secluded pond offers a natural setting and beautiful scattering option. Beside the pond a memorial monument stands tall, adorned with bronze butterflies containing the names of those tenderly scattered here.
The tranquil pond area invites visitors to reflect on the enduring memories of their loved ones in a natural and serene setting.
Native Prairie: Adding to the richness of Green Lawn, our 5-acre native prairie pays homage to cycle of life and nature, but also ensures your loved ones scattered remains evolve into a vibrant and living tribute. Each spring the prairie blooms with new life - vibrant wildflowers, birds, bees, a true to the everlasting promise of renewal.

Green Tree Burials
Honor and celebrate life while sustaining the next. Our Green Tree Burial incorporates one's cremated remains into the soil to create a unique testament to one's life. This option includes a space for a tree, a biodegradable Eco Sphere Urn for cremated remains, and a native tree of your choice from our approved list.
A beveled granite base and engraved bronze plate provide a simple, yet dignified memorialization.
A watering plan and replacement guarantee is provided for two years. Green Tree Burials celebrate life and contribute to our growing arboretum at Green Lawn Cemetery.
Cremation Benches & Features
A cremation bench serves to memorialize a loved one in much the same way a headstone does. Only instead of sitting at the head of the grave, it holds the ashes (inside the bench) of the family members. The cremation urns are simply slid into a chamber within the bench.
Engraving on a cremation bench is limited only by your imagination and the amount of space on the bench. You can include names, birth and death dates, a verse of poetry, a scene, or even a likeness of the person being remembered.
Cremation benches and features can be installed only in approved sections of the cemetery.
