Civil War Veteran Marker Dedication

Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War will be conducting a headstone dedication ceremony for Brigadier General William Douglas Hamilton at Section 31 at 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 29, 2024.

Scheduled to speak is Civil War Historian and author Eric Wittenberg, who was involved in obtaining the marker for General Hamilton several years ago. 

Eric J. Wittenberg is a native of southeastern Pennsylvania, he is a product of Jeb Stuart's raid on Pennsylvania. A student of Dickinson College and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, he is engaged as a practicing lawyer here in Columbus. He is involved with the Central Virginia Battlefields Trust, the Central Ohio Civil War Roundtable, the Bentonville Battlefield, and other similar organizations. He, his wife Susan and their four golden retrievers live on the east side of Columbus Ohio.
