Grave Marker Cleaning Workshop
Grave Marker Cleaning Workshop
Learn how to properly clean grave headstones safely and effectively - without causing damage.

Old grave stones are typically made of porous materials such as marble, limestone, and sandstone. Cleaning them requires special care, appropriate tools, a safe cleaning solution, and correct technique. Without this specialized knowledge a well-meaning person can do irreversible damage and actually accelerate a grave stone's deterioration.

This 2-hour workshop includes experienced instructors that will cover the basics of do-no-harm, step-by-step demonstrations, and hands-on experience cleaning historic grave markers. All tools, equipment, and approved cleaning solution will be provided.

Guest should wear clothing & shoes that they do not mind getting dirty! Please wear closed-toe shoes (no sandals or flip flops).

Fee: $40 per person. Proceeds will benefit Kelton House Museum & Garden to help them rebuild following a fire that caused significant damage in November 2025.
